Posted March 6, 2015. Hi, I have a mk7 tdci fiesta. Recently had a water leak diagnosed as the water pump. As the cambelt had to come off to do so I also replaced the pulley and tensioner as well as the cambelt. This was all replaced and locked/timed throughout as per autodata. I have tried to start the car but without auxiliary belt connected
If the old battery was dead the computer might have shut the starting down. If the new battery was connected it might have old data in its memory that prevents it starting. Try disconnecting the negative battery lead and leave it off for 1 hour. Then connect it back up. Focus 1.6 Tdci - won't start. My focus up until yesterday has been very reliable, now it won't start at all and you just hear a clicking sound from the engine bay. Yesterday morning it failed to start after trying several times, I managed to get it started by bump starting it, I know it's not advisabled by I had no other option. Wont start Drove my car on and off all day no problems. Parked up overnight then next morning car would not start. just kept turning over but not starting. That's going to be tough being the engine does not turn over [chair] lol. Just a shot in the dark here. Open the hood and in the fuse box you should see 3 black looking fuses. Pull each out and put them back in. IIRC they are actually circuit breakers and one of them being for the ignition and ECU.
