Throttle and steering control is great mid corner, power on for a great drift car, no problem, great 6 speed manual. Best year is a 2006 530i. Reason is it has 255hp engine and tighter suspension. 2007 and after BMW softened sport suspension for North American market.
Compartment/CAS recognition of the chip should still occur however, even IF the remote is loose in the slot. The 2007 BMW 5-Series is very comfortable, it’s fun to drive, and the sticker price has come down quite a bit over the years, starting at under $6,000. But it’s expensive to maintain, and will probably break down for good within a year of driving it off the lot. A Volvo S80 does just about everything a 5-Series does, but better.
